In the heart of Bratislava, close to the banks of the Danube, is "Eurovea City" - a modern district characterized by a comprehensive social and cultural offering and exceptional architecture. Special attention is paid to the green and walkable areas, which are an important part of the project.

"Eurovea City" is now located on the site of a former industrial area. The modern district in the center of Bratislava includes various buildings that invite people to live, work, shop and relax. These include "Eurovea" - currently the largest shopping center in Slovakia, which is directly connected to the first Slovakian skyscraper EUROVEA TOWER, the PRIBINOVA 34 office building and the RIVERSIDE residences on the Danube promenade. These buildings, as well as the PRIBINOVA 40 office building, which is located on the Apollo Bridge, are the result of the second phase of the Eurovea project - Eurovea2. The extension also includes the extension of the promenade and the creation of Pribinova Boulevard, the organizational concept of which was proposed by the internationally renowned architect and urban planner Beth Galí.
The boulevard in Pribinova Street has created a pedestrian zone in a place where there used to be heavy traffic. "All private traffic has disappeared underground and the boulevard has been opened up for pedestrians and cyclists, creating a very efficient public space," says Ľuboš Kaštan, project manager for the client JTRE. DELTA®-TERRAXX was used as a system solution for the construction of the drainage layer for the boulevard's walking and driving surfaces. The protective and drainage membrane used offers high compressive strength, which ensures a high drainage capacity even under high loads. This effectively drains the walkable and drivable surfaces and protects them from frost damage. At the same time, it protects the waterproofing from mechanical damage. "The work with DELTA®-TERRAXX was extremely quick thanks to the integrated adhesive edges, which made implementation much easier," says Jozef Kopečný from the contractor NOVADACH s.r.o.
Green and walkable areas are an important part of this project. Together they make up 11,290 m2 of space. The green roof of the shopping center is also intended to offer the new residents of the EUROVEA TOWER, as well as the tenants of the office space and the residents of the RIVERSIDE residences, a particularly attractive sight.
To ensure that the attractive, green areas last for a long time, durable, high-quality materials with a long service life must be used. DELTA®-FLORAXX TOP was therefore laid as a water-retaining and draining membrane in the extensively planted green roof. "We needed a reliable product that offers filtration, water storage and drainage. That's why we opted for the DELTA®-FLORAXX TOP system, which fulfills all of these functions," explains Jana Valachovičová, project engineer at GFI, the office responsible for the planning.
The diffusion-open DELTA®-FASSADE 20 membrane was used to protect the thermal insulation from moisture and wind behind the ceramic and metal façade cladding with open joints. The DELTA®-TAPE FAS adhesive tape, specially developed for the DELTA®-FASSADE 20, was used for bonding overlaps and in the area of connection details. This system offers high UV stability in the area of the open joints and, with Euro fire class B-s1, d0, the frequently required low flammability. For a large public building like this, the requirements for fire behavior, durability and UV resistance are particularly high. With DELTA®-FASSADE 20 and the corresponding accessories, a system solution was chosen that fulfills these properties to the maximum extent and thus ensures the long-term functionality and energy efficiency of the entire façade.
The expansion of Eurovea is one of the largest development projects in Bratislava and is characterized above all by its unmistakable architecture. The building design by Slovakian studio GFI already shows the modernity and innovation that the property brings with it. The design of the public spaces is also one of the architectural highlights. These were designed by the internationally renowned architect and urban planner Beth Galí, who also came up with the concept for the organization of Pribinova Boulevard. The focus in the design of the public spaces was on a harmonious mix of indoor and outdoor areas. The organically shaped glass roof with its eye-catching triangular glass elements was inspired by the Danube river.
